SUMMARY

Omega-3 fatty acids, also known as polyunsaturated fatty acids, are essential chemical compounds that the body needs in order to function properly. However, our bodies are unable to make these compounds. Instead, they must be consumed through food sources such as fish, some plants, and select nut oils. Many diets are lacking in adequate amounts of omega-3 fatty acids which can lead to shifts in mood, fatigue, poor memory, dry skin, and poor circulation.

The body uses essential fatty acids to support brain and heart health. Omega-fatty acids have also been shown to help support a healthy immune system. Additionally, the consumption of adequate amounts of omega-3 fatty acids may also support cognitive and skin health.*
